Tyrik Woods Wins!
Tyrik Woods is the winner of the 45th Annual Seattle International Comedy Competition at Laughs Comedy Club in Seattle. Curiously enough, he was also the People’s Choice winner the first night of the Final at the Washington Athletic Club, a reward that has no bearing on a final score, but it was definitely a little foreshadowing of how the rest of the Finals would shape up.
The Final Top Five

The Best Finals Yet
“This was the best finals I’ve ever seen,” declared past champ David Crowe following the last 2025 Comedy Competition show at a packed Laughs in Seattle. Tyrik Woods from Atlanta (with northwest ties) took the crown.
It didn’t come easy. Tyrik has amazing delivery, stage presence and technique which was especially effective in larger venues like Mt. Baker Theater in Bellingham where 1,200 fans attended. Still, as set durations were required to increase, Tyrik, being the least experienced finalist, spent his days feverishly working on new material.
Brent Ayton, a self professed “cross eyed guy” from Edmonton, and Paul Goodwin, a story teller with a deep southern accent now living in Bremerton, WA, both scored wins in the finals round and remained in contention to the end.
The thing is though, everyone’s acts had strengthened so much over the course of the event that the judges at show number 20 (comedians Tony Daniel and Jaci Terjeson plus club owner Dave Dennison) granted all the remaining contestants near perfect scores which allowed Tyrik to maintain a half-point lead.
Kudos also to fourth place finisher Jordan Policicchio from Toronto who deserved a best sport award if there had been one and fifth place finisher David Louis from New York who continued to pick himself up off the canvas to get back in the fight, closing strong in late stages of every round.
Crowe it should be mentioned assumed a director’s role at Laughs with a five-camera shoot that hopefully will be available on uTube sometime in the relatively near future. We’re confident that as talented a bunch they already were entering the event, our finalists will take note of the improved performances this event brings out of its entrants.
