Opening Night at Club Comedy

After a flurry of last-minute changes, we have finally lined up our 16 competitors in a row, and it’s showtime. It was a great crowd for the first night, and some of the very last-minute additions did surprisingly well.

It is shaping up to be a really strong week of comedy from across North America and beyond.

Getting With It

We’ve been reading “Collision of Power” by Martin Baron, the legendary editor who oversaw the investigation of the Catholic Church at the Boston Globe before assuming the reins at the Washington Post. There, he experienced the input of a new owner, none other than Jeff Bezos who worked to apply 21st Century marketing to a venerable institution. One thing he did was create a slogan for the paper: “Democracy Dies in Darkness.” That has us thinking about a slogan for our venerable institution. We want something that proclaims we’re anything but artificial intelligence. Any ideas out there?
