Giving Thanks for a Show Like Vashon
To get to Vashon Island, you need to ride the Ferry. The Ferry ride sounds so romantic and it can be, but the romance stops when you wait in line for just to drive on the ferry. so yes, it’s a bit of a hassle, but when you have a sold-out crowd like the one we have seen over the years at the Vashon Theatre, it’s totally worth it and I am thankful this venue has worked out better than the old one we visited many years ago.
The Vashon judges liked everybody, but the top five order is almost flipped from our show the night before at WAC. This is how it played out
The Top Five
- Brittany Lyseng – Calgary
- Dylan Jenkins – Portland
- Ola Dada – Vancouver
- Jess Everett – Tacoma
- John Gardner – Seattle
We used to go to Moses Lake for Thanksgiving Eve and drive back Thanksgiving morning. A hung over drive to make sure you get home in time for an early dinner. That’s what makes Vashon so special, great crowd and a short ride home.
There are only three shows left in the Finals. There are still tickets for Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue, Lincoln Theatre in Mount Vernon. You could always try and storm the castle at Laughs Comedy Club as well I suppose. But for a small feee, they just let you in the door. No catapult needed.
