Vashon Island for a Pre-Thanksgiving Treat
Why in the world would you battle rain, bad traffic, a ferry ride, the rain, on Thanksgiving Eve just to do a comedy show on an island? The reason is simple, the people of Vashon make the trip to the Vashon Theatre worthwhile. Every year we do the show we get feedback like this: “I’ve been coming to see this show every year you’ve brought it to the island, and this is absolutely the best show yet. All five of the comedians and especially the host…just incredible. Just incredible…and I had to come and tell you that.” Thank you.
The secret to entertaining is to leave them wanting more. With host, Kermet Apio, the show was so entertaining that the crowd was disappointed when presented him with the results. After an amazing two and a half hour comedy show, the audience still wanted more! Thank you.
We thank the great management and staff at the Vashon Theatre and everyone who came to the show for a wonderful way to send us to our Thanksgiving break. Thank you.
It’s been said that going up first is the hardest slot and usually the hardest to get a good score. In the interest of fairness, no comedian goes up first or last more than once during the competition. The order is randomly drawn but since there are five comics and five nights, everyone in the finals goes up first at least once. Tonight Drew Dunn drew first, put in an incredible set. He earned an explosive ovation at the end of his performance and took first place.
Any of the performers could have taken first place. The audience gave Bo Johnson a sustained lingering applause when he was announced in Fifth place.
