We Sold Out in Auburn

We Sold Out in Auburn

The signs on the doors of the Auburn Ave Theater said “SOLD OUT” for Preliminary Week Two of Night Four of the 39th Annual Seattle International Comedy Competition. The lucky ones inside were treated to a really fun night of comedy from our sixteen competitors, all of them trying to bag a good score on the second to last night of their week. In addition, we had a special guest performer: Joe Larson stopped in to do a set.

Joe was born in Seattle into a comedy. His father Gary Larson won the Competition in 1982 and in 1990 as Elliot Maxx, when the popularity of the comic strip, “The Far Side” forced him to change his name because everyone thought he was the author. Joe is back in Seattle to record a new comedy album.

The Judges filled the Top 5 for the night with performers who have all been in the Top 5 before…solidifying their position and adding another good score as everyone hopes to be in the Top Five for the week.

Top honors on this night, for the first time this week, goes to Kitchener, Ontario’s Landry.

Up Next: Tonight we bring the competition to the North Bend Theater in North Bend for the first time ever. This is where we will find out which five comedians from Preliminary Week Two will advance to the Semi-Finals.
