Not So Unexpected Great Show
It was a packed house at Unexpected Productions for the third night of Preliminary Week Two of the 39th Annual Seattle International Comedy Competition. That was not unexpected, as the crowd is always great at the venue. It was nice to see people who had been in the audience for the opening night of Preliminary Week One. They wanted the opportunity to see all 32 of this year’s competitors and they were rewarded with another great show!
There was a tie for second place on this night because the judges favored a mix of some familiar faces and performers making their first appearance in the nightly Top Five (or, with the tie, the top 6.). For the first time, the top scoring performer on the night was not Drew Dunn. Although, he did tie for second place. Instead it was London’s Will Mars, who claimed the top spot with his dry wit and his irrational hatred of Randy.
Top Five Comics:
1. Will Mars – London
2. Drew Dunn – Nashua (tie)
2. Landry – Kitchener (tie)
3. Lisa Pedace – San Diego
4. Isabella Charlton – London
5. Elliott G-B – Seattle
Next Up: It’s Friday night, November 9 and we’re headed back to the Auburn Ave Theater. Because we always have great audiences, so we expect another great night of comedy.
