North Bend Theatre for the Last Preliminary Show
It’s great fun bringing the competition to a venue that hasn’t hosted to a show. Saturday night we brought the final Preliminary show of the 39th Annual Seattle International Comedy Competition to the North Bend Theatre for the first time ever.
Audience turnout was excellent — if it wasn’t a sell out of this beautifully restored movie theater, it was close to it. The crowd was treated to an excellent night of comedy.
This was the last show for Preliminary Week Two. Those who were in the hunt to grab one of the five spots in this week that will advance to the Semifinals had every reason to do their best. Those who had a strong feeling that they would not be advancing still brought their best efforts, with hopes of making the Nightly Top 5…or just to show everyone in North Bend what they’ve got.
They certainly did that.
As a bonus, Seattle International Comedy Competition veteran Andrew Rivers dropped in to perform while the judges’ scores were being counted.
Speaking of scores, here is the nightly results.
Top Five Comics:
- Phillip Kopczynski – Spokane
- Landry – Kitchener
