A fantastic night at the Columbia Theater in Longview
Making the drive from Seattle down to Longview is always worth it. Especially when we get a theater full of comedy loving fans like we had last night for the fourth night of the Semifinals of the 39th Annual Seattle International Comedy Competition.
The audience at the Columbia Theater was one of the best we’ve ever had at the venue. They were engaged from the moment our host, Auggie Smith, took the stage, all the way through to the announcement of last night’s Top Five.
The Top Five was topped by two Spokane-based performers as both Phillip Kopczynski and Harry J Riley were outstanding in a field full of incredible performances — nobody had a bad night!
Joining them on the podium on this night were Dan Quinn (who made his first Nightly Top 5 this week). Landry went up first and got a partial standing ovation for his efforts. Even with the ovation and encore point, he managed no better than fifth place. That shows the strength of competition on this night.
