Week one of the 44th Seattle International Comedy Competition returns to Unexpected Productions, the heart of improv in Seattle. This show has 16 different comics from across North America.
They compete for just five chances to advance to the Semifinals. There is over $16,000 in prize money on the line. The judges, including entertainment industry professionals and media personalities, score the performances along with audience reactions to determine the winners.
Since 1983, Unexpected Productions has been dedicated to promoting the art and spirit of improvisation. Their show, Theatresports has been running for over 30 years! Unexpected Productions and The Market Theater are located downtown in Pike Place Market, in the heart of Seattle’s Tourist District.
Wyatt Cote dropped out of college one year shy of graduation to pursue a career in comedy and has since become a nationally working headliner with five comedy contest wins to his credit. He was the winner of the World Series of Comedy in 2021 and also finished runner up in the historic San Francisco Comedy Competition. His stand up has appeared on Laughs on Fox and ABC news.
