Week 1 of the 44th Seattle International Comedy Competition wraps up at the Whidbey Island Center for the Arts. 16 comedians battle for the night’s highest score and an opportunity for a shot at cash and prizes. The pressure is on as the comedians take the stage with only five advancing to the Semifinals. Last year’s winner Wyatt Cote hosts the evening.
This event truly is the “Last Comic Standing”. The Competition attracts comedians from across North America and beyond. This event is one of the most prestigious comedy events in North America, launching the careers of people like Mitch Hedberg. It’s an outrageously funny evening, where you will see the comedy stars of tomorrow competing for their chance at fame and fortune. Hundreds of comedians audition each year to compete. Only 32 are chosen.
Wyatt Cote dropped out of college one year shy of graduation to pursue a career in comedy and has since become a nationally working headliner with five comedy contest wins to his credit. He was the winner of the World Series of Comedy in 2021 and also finished runner up in the historic San Francisco Comedy Competition. His stand up has appeared on Laughs on Fox and ABC news.
