Night two of the Seattle International Comedy Competition returns to the Auburn Ave Theater with 16 comedians competing for a chance to advance to the Semifinals. To make the evening more interesting, it’s TV clean night. That brings to mind that classic George Carlin bit.
The Auburn Avenue Theater is a really great venue because it’s one of the few in our contest where you can see all 32 comics in the same venue. It’s a preview of some of the best emerging comedy talent.
Performances at the Auburn Ave Theater tend to sell out, so we recommend pre-purchasing your tickets to a performance. Seating at the Auburn Avenue Theater is on a first come, first served basis. The Theater is open one hour prior to the start of a show for box office ticket sales and 30 minutes prior to the start of a show for seating. Ticketholders can enjoy a 10% dining discount on the day of the performance only at several downtown Auburn restaurants.
Tonight’s master of ceremonies is Scott Losse, the 2013 winner of the Northwest Comedy Competition and a semi-finalist in the Seattle International Comedy Competition in 2014. Scott has appeared at SF Sketchfest, Seattle Sketchfest, Bridgetown Comedy Festival, and Bumbershoot. Scott has worked with Emo Philips, Bobcat Goldthwait, Caroline Rhea (they didn’t have a choice) and comedians who aren’t any of those people. In 2016 He appeared on several episodes of Laughs on Fox. You’ve never heard of him, but that’s ok. He’s still pretty good at it and we like him.
